The red wine Sasbacher Rote Halde Spätburgunder Rotwein Spätlese trocken Edition Orchidea, vintage 2016 from the winery Sasbacher Winzerkeller has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Baden in Germany.
Blueberry compote, cassis, wild berries, ethereal herbs. Smooth on the palate with a noticeable wood influence, strong alcohol, rather mild acidity, the tannin has remnants of youthful graininess, but has mellowed towards silkiness through barrel ageing, a full, fruit-driven Pinot Noir.
