Deep ruby colour, purple reflections, subtle watery rim. Still very restrained bouquet, appears closed, delicate hints of tobacco, undergrowth and vanilla, ripe plum fruit, a hint of cedar wood. Powerful on the palate, but still a touch unbalanced, with the fruit still somewhat in the background. Well-placed tannins, the acid structure still dominates the overall impression, but will ensure a long life, mineral nuances on the finish, good length, subtle cherries in the aftertaste, patience is required here in any case. (ageing +35).
