The red wine Primitivo di Manduria DOC, vintage 2017 from the winery Tenute Rubino has been rated in 2020 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Primitivo from the region Puglia in Italy.
Garnet colour. Currently still very closed on the nose, restrained hints of cherry and a touch of spice. On the palate the wine demonstrates dense fruit ripeness and medium body, juicy and grippy tannins, still very young, needs time, but shows potential.
More about the tastingThere is an intense, dark ruby red colour with a shimmering core. It has a fragrant and open nose with a lush strawberry aroma, as well as ripe raspberry and wild berry. It is balanced and round on the palate, and has a lovely harmony. There is a fresh kick of strawberry confit in the centre, and it finishes with a flavour of ripe currant.
