The red wine Roggio del Filare Rosso Piceno Superiore DOC, vintage 2021 from the winery Velenosi has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Montepulciano, Sangiovese from the region Marche in Italy.
Intense, deep dark ruby red colour. Somewhat restrained on the nose, needs air. Very concentrated aromas of blackcurrant and dried plum as well as cherries, slightly spicy with notes black pepper and macchia herbs. Dry and juicy on the palate. Plenty of ripe tannins on the finish. Powerful body, again dark, ripe fruit with lots of dark chocolate and tobacco.
