The red wine Pignolo Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Vie d'Alt has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pignolo from the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia in Italy.
Rich, dark ruby with a slight purple tinge. Intense nose with lots of dark berryish fruit, blueberry and mulberry, plus some liquorice. Grippy tannin characterises this wine on the palate, gives it structure, dark berryish fruit. In the finish then unfortunately drying.
