The red wine Vigna Contessa Luisa Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Villa Calcinaia - Conti Capponi has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright, intense ruby with DELICATE purple shimmer. Opens with accented savoury notes, bay leaf and oregano, then lots of fresh plum. Taut and dense on the palate, showing plenty of pithy, gripping tannin, also fine sweet texture, but the two components still have to grow together; currently seems a bit rough.
