The red wine Villa Maria Attorney Pinot Noir 60th Anniversary Limited Edition, vintage 2019 from the winery Villa Maria has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl MW with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Marlborough in New Zealand.
An initial touch of vanilla plays on the leafy nose that expresses rose hedge, rosehip and ripe, red cherry. The palate brings out even more of that profound and aromatic fruit. The body is concentrated, comes with real tension and an extra aromatic dimension that subsumes the vanilla tones from oak into blood orange and cherry nuance. The tannins are wonderfully silky. Lovely, smooth and really silky. That peppery rose hedge character keeps shimmering in the background, highlighting that tart rosehip and rounder cherry fruit.
