The white wine The First Lady Unoaked Chardonnay, vintage 2020 from the winery Warwick Estate has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Stellenbosch in South Africa.
A scent of butter and sweet vegetables and corn shows on the nose. It's full-bodied on the palate, powerful in alcohol and carefully supported with phenolic grip and a well-integrated acidity. This is a round, full-bodied and subtly mineral-tinged Chardonnay, achieved without the use of wood. Light raisin flavours flash on the finish, indicating the ripeness of the grapes.
