The red wine Torso, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Hoop has been rated in 2025 by Benjamin Herzog und Dominik Vombach with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Garanoir, Pinot Noir
On the nose, intense aromas of dark fruit: elderberry, and cassis, with cool herbs and smoky oak notes in the background. The palate is elegant with the right balance of creaminess and fresh acidity, again dark berry notes and oak spice, with medium-fine tannins and an appropriate length.
More about the tastingThis has aromas of red and black berry on the nose, some plum, along with distinctive spicy notes, and tarry animal notes. It is medium-bodied on the palate, and beautifully mellow, again with fine spicy notes, and a subtly smoky character. There are fine tannins, and also a red berry flavour on the finish.
