The white wine Riesling Idig, Königsbach, vintage 2011 from the winery Weingut A. Christmann has been rated in 2012 with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Golden yellow colour. Peculiar estery note on the nose, anything but brilliant, very ripe fruit. Enormously juicy, racy and mineral on the powerful palate, quite sweet and creamy, perhaps one would wish for more clarity, stringency and austerity here. An expansive, exciting wine still with yeasty notes that will develop. Nevertheless, more opulent than dramatic in the end.
