The white wine Chardonnay Leithaberg DAC, vintage 2018 from the winery Bayer – Erbhof has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
A medium yellow green colour, with silver reflections. On the nose an intense aroma of passion fruit and guava, with some tangerine zest, and a touch of blossom honey, it is an attractive bouquet. It is complex on the palate, with juiciness, elegance, a multi-faceted acid structure, a dark minerality, a delicate pear fruit flavour on the finish, and citrus notes on the back palate. It is a good food wine with definite ageing potential.
