The red wine Spätburgunder Vulkangestein, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Christian Bamberger – Steinhardter Hof has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Nahe in Germany.
Piquantly fresh fruit, mint and subtle wood, flint, plus a dense, homogeneous palate structure, good drive build-up with silky tannins, very round and resting in itself, still compact and closed in the aromas, but with the certain ageing potential for fruity and savoury development. A rather full-bodied style that nevertheless appears light-hearted and elegant.
