The white wine Gau-Heppenheim Schlossberg Sauvignon Blanc trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Dr. Hinkel has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Initially very yeasty on the nose, with subtle flowery notes – lilac – but also hints of almond. Opens out quite nicely with a persistent bit of swirling in the glass. Supple attack, soft and round, mild acidity, good thrust, then a juicy element on the finish. A wine for patient individuals!
