Tasting Notes
Light white-yellow in colour. In contrast to the higher-growing chestnut bushes with no additional designation, which grow on Rotliegend soil, Köppel comes from weathered mottled sandstone soil. Irritatingly vegetal aromas. Far less opulent on the palate than the red-lying chestnut bush, therefore far more purist, light-footed and playful, but with a powerful finish and ripe yellow stone chestnut flavours. But the green herbal notes also remain vivid. A great wine with a future.
