Tasting Notes
Medium straw yellow. Dusty, fresh nose, rather lean and cool, but with good concentration. On the palate with fresh green aromas, well persistent and anything but round, rather angular and (still?) drying. Dust-dry Riesling with tremendous race. A wine for ascetics. Difficult to assess as it is still very raw and undeveloped at the moment. The 2007, for example, now smells wonderfully ripe, is concentrated and elegant on the palate, but this wine also remains somewhat bitter and drying on the finish. Perhaps the wine from the heart of the 450-hectare Heilbronn Stiftsberg vineyard, bottled for the first time in 2011 as "Hunsperg", would be better with a few grams of residual sugar?
