The red wine M1, vintage 2007 from the winery Weingut Gerhard Markowitsch has been rated in 2011 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Merlot from the region Carnuntum in Austria.
Dark ruby colour, black opaque core, purple reflections, slightly watery rim. Intense sweet oaky spiciness on the nose, orange zest, herbs, underlaid with ripe plum, nuances of nougat and mint, tobacco, a suggestive bouquet. Powerful, complex, sweet roasted plum, vivid tannins that really grip, great length, chocolate on the finish. It should be allowed to age in bottle for a few years. It is a Vin de Garde.
