The white wine Chardonnay "Contessa", vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Giefing has been rated in 2021 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Burgenland in Austria.
It has a medium golden yellow colour, with silver reflections. There is an aroma of yellow tropical fruit in the background, with fine oak spiciness, white nougat, candied mandarin zest, and a vanilla touch. On the palate it is juicy, elegant, with nice fruit, a creamy texture, delicate nuttines on the finish, some minerality, and good persistence. It is already well developed, and it is a powerful food wine.
