The red wine Blauer Portugieser trocken, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Heinrich Vollmer has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blauer Portugieser from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
The nose is intensely savoury. Reminiscent of fruity vegetables such as tomato puree and grilled bell peppers rather than fruit. You might even think of preserved strawberry confit. It is nicely concentrated on the palate and has noticeable acidity. All in all, a powerful Portugieser.
