The red wine Hochheimer Stein Spätburgunder trocken, vintage 2008 has been rated in 2014 with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Rheingau in Germany.
A sensory puzzle: on the one hand, very ripe on the nose (bready, malty, with remnants of berry fruit). On the palate, however, it is still relatively firm despite the softening of the tannins due to its maturity. A kind of sparse density in the middle of the palate, and then spicy again on the finish, and very typical of Pinot Noir. Probably benefits from a carafe.
