It has a deep dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There are aromas of ripe black cherry, and a hint of liquorice, it is an attractive bouquet. It is taut, elegant, with lovely sweet fruit, well-integrated tannins, some minerality, persistence, and subtle nougat. It has certain ageing potential.
