The white wine »Wunderkind« Chardonnay Spätlese trocken, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Jürgen Andres has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
White flowers on the nose, mace, pear, melon and gooseberry, also apple peel and some vanilla, cinnamon and smoke. On the palate it shows with a soft base, texture and vivid acidity, somewhat citrusy, also notes of quince, dry impression, with medium density and length, has charm.
More about the tastingPale greenish yellow, light yellow reflections. Clear, varietal Chardonnay typicity on the nose and palate. Candied orange zest and hints of papaya, light wood influence. Well-defined body. Clean finish that lingers longer.
