The white wine Großheppach Steingrüble Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Leon Gold has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Württemberg in Germany.
Still slightly closed on the nose, with hints of salted lemon, apricots and apple peel, along with box, ground rock and brioche. There's an ethereal, slightly smoky note that emerges too. Mineral and saline on the palate with good acidity, subtle fruit and creamy core, supported by fine phenolic grip. Good use of wood brings some spice, and certain ageing potential.
