The sekt Crémant brut, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Pieper has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Spätburgunder, Pinot Meunier from the region Mittelrhein in Germany.
On the nose, notes of flint and match, pizza crust, dried grapefruit and lemon peel, with a cereal-scented flavour. Very accessible type, creamy mousse, mineral notes in the centre and some yellow fruitiness, with medium length.
More about the tastingPale lemon yellow. Apple and fine yeast on the nose. On the palate a pleasantly fine mousse, white bloom and fresh apple flesh, balanced between fine acidity and the right dosage. Not particularly complex, but versatile and, yes, delicious.
