The white wine Kallstadt Saumagen Riesling GG, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Rings has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Notes of spontaneous fermentation, apple skin, yeast, some malt and herbs, with yellow fruit forming in the background. There's a lot going on in the mouth: lots of extra weight, density and ripe phenolics, which together with the minerality form a monolithic Riesling that is nevertheless accessible and testifies to Pfalz soil. Strong.
