The red wine »Villa von Layen« Cuvée, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Schlossmühle Dr. Höfer has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 88+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Regent, Dornfelder , St. Laurent from the region Nahe in Germany.
Sour cherry and some fruit juice-like notes, as well as honey, wax and Grafschafter Goldsaft. On the palate a sweet and sour interplay dominates over the top of some grainy, somewhat dry tannins. The profile is tight, with medium length of fruit extract.
