The red wine Gladiator, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingut 47er Schwertführer has been rated in 2011 with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Merlot from the region Thermenregion in Austria.
Dark ruby-garnet color with violet highlights and a subtle rim. Rather reserved on the nose, with delicate notes of dark berry jam, a hint of nougat and orange zest, and subtle herbal spice. Ripe sour cherry fruit, fresh structure, pronounced, well-integrated tannins, a chocolatey finish, and subtle toasted notes in the aftertaste.
