The white wine »R Pure« Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Seckinger has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
It's not about fruit here, lots of spice and herbs on the nose, from hops, to miso to soy sauce. Juicy, lively and linear on the palate, quince shows itself with phenolic pixels, the acidity invigorates even phlegmatic people, also notes of preserved lemon.
More about the tastingInitially more savouriness than fruit in the glass. Not very typical of the variety, but very exciting. Aromas of star fruit, quince and hazelnut. High acidity on the palate with a rather slender body. A wine with tension and drinking flow.
