The white wine Sauvignon Blanc IZ Reserve Ried Zieregg Große STK Lage, vintage 2006 from the winery Familienweingut Tement has been rated in 2017 by Martin Kilchmann, Peter Moser, Ulrich Sautter with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay from the region Southern Styria in Austria.
Medium yellow green in colour with silver reflections. Aromas of fine herbal spices and nuances of lovage, underpinned by yellow tropical fruit, grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry with some citrus notes and a hint of passion fruit. The palate is juicy, elegant, and mineral with fresh acidity, underlaid by ripe, pronounced tannins, with some notes of mango and a dark minerality on the lingering finish. This is a white wine with the texture of a red wine that still cries out for further bottle aging. Laid in wooden barrels for 18 months without sulphur, the wine offers an immediate impression of the terroir.
