The red wine Nußdorfer Kaiserberg Spätburgunder, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Villa Hochdörffer has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Initial ripeness on the nose, almost caramelised notes, but also some almond, Gariguette strawberry, ethereal notes of menthol and eucalyptus. Fine-grained extract in the mouth, firm acidity that keeps the body under tension, lots of juiciness, long-lasting homogeneous palate fruit. Unusual style with a modern take on traditional Pinot Noir motifs.
