It has a deep dark ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There is an aroma of black berry fruit, underlaid with liquorice, along with a hint of spice, and a subtle note of black olive. It is juicy, elegant, with a fine structure, a spicy minerality, a black cherry flavour, and a well-integrated tannin structure. It is persistent, and is a versatile food wine.
