The red wine Olivin Reserve, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Winkler-Hermaden has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Vulkanland Styria in Austria.
Tasting Notes
It has a dark ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a subtle bright rim. There are delicately smoky and spicy aromas, with a hint of liquorice and cranberry, discreet tar, some vanilla, and nougat. It is complex, taut, with black cherry, fine spicy tannins, and some minerality on the finish. It is still very youthful, matured for 48 months in 300-litre barrels made from their own oak, which gives the wine that special unmistakable something.
