The red wine »Red Opium« trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weinmanufaktur Gerhard Schwarztrauber has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Merlot from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Spicy Cabernet nose with cassis, cherry and plum, some orange peel, also earthy notes. Quite full-bodied on the palate with good substance and power, savouriness and ripe fruit on a soft base, the supple tannins are of high quality.
