Falstaff Barguide 2025: These are the best wine bars in Switzerland

Barguide 2025

Exquisite wines and a cozy, elegant atmosphere: Falstaff presents the best wine bars in Switzerland.

Special Selection

Boca (bocadillos and champagne), Geneva

The menu at the stylish Boca Bar is all about bocadillos, i.e. Spanish–style sandwiches, vegetarian or topped with selected Serrano ham. When it comes to wine, the main focus is on champagne: over 30 labels are on offer, all from small producers working close to nature. It's great to pop the corks!

New opening wine bar

Chez Smith, Zurich

At Smith, people meet for a light, enjoyable lunch or aperitif, which then extends into an extensive dinner. There are delicious bites and warm comfort food made from the best ingredients. The highlight, however, is the wine selection: On over 60 pages you will find everything a connoisseur's heart desires, from local gems to sought–after rarities.

Classic wine bar

Storchen Wine Bar, Lucerne

In the cozy historic walls of the Storchen Weinbar you can feast on tapas and drink fine wines from all over the world. Here, however, it is also important to present the Swiss wine regions. Many treasures are stored in the well–stocked cellar, but you are also spoiled for choice when it comes to wines by the glass: thanks to Enomat, there are over 20 of them on offer.

Wine bar in a wine shop

La Bonne Cave Andermatt

The Bonne Cave can also be found in Lucerne, but the branch in Andermatt is particularly beautiful. Fantastic wine can be bought and tasted in a modern, cozy atmosphere with lots of wood, accompanied by delicious snacks such as pinsas and platters with local cheese and meat. There is also art hanging on the walls, which can also be purchased.

Natural wine bar

Bar Gala Lausanne

Behind the stylish Gala bar is the young sommelier and wine merchant Noemi Streuli. There is a great selection of natural wines from Switzerland and Europe on the menu, but it's also worth a visit for the food. The kitchen serves delicious, simple dishes made from market-fresh produce, and the pasta dishes in particular have many fans.

Wine restaurant/bistro

Trallala Bistro, Bern

The urban and casual bistro Trallala only serves home–made and hand–picked food. The menu includes various sourdough sheet pizzas at lunchtime, and in the evening there are also a number of dishes with and without meat to share. The wine selection with a focus on natural wines – the owners have their own wine shop – is also excellent.
