The white wine »GG« Volkach Ratsherr Silvaner trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery BIO-Weingut Daniel Then has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Silvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
Notes of smoke and oyster shells rise from the glass. On the palate, the wine is taut and straightforward; it compensates light green tones with juicy tension but has enough substance and - as the finish shows - also enough savoury ageing potential to incorporate this.
More about the tastingA nose of macadamia nut and white sesame - still rather closed. On the palate, the wine shows strong character, the structure has breadth and fullness, silky phenolics and minerality are underpinned by ripe acidity. Very good potential!
