The white wine Château d'Yquem, vintage 2001 from the winery Château d'Yquem has been rated in 2016 with 100 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon from the region Sauternes in France.
Pale yellow gold with green reflections. On the nose fine tropical fruit, pineapple and yellow peach, as well as notes of crème brulée, some honey and brioche. Full-bodied on the palate, with the lush residual sugar countered by a racy acid structure. Incredibly precise and crystal clear despite the concentration, backed by a fine mineral savouriness and immense aromatic depth. Already well developed but has certain ageing potential for many decades.
