The red wine Carruades de Lafite, vintage 2009 from the winery Château Lafite-Rothschild has been rated in 2012 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Pauillac in France.
Deep dark ruby colour, purple reflections. Fine oaky spiciness on the nose, delicate balsamic touch, fresh orange zest, a pleasant bouquet. Full-bodied, good complexity, fresh acid structure, ripe cherry, underpinned with chocolaty tannins, mineral, ripe soft cherry fruit on the finish. It still needs a few years to fully reveal itself, and has very good development potential. Above average performance.
