Tasting Notes
The wine was poured from a carafe specially designed by Riedel for the Clos Ste. Hune and produced in 100 copies. Read "at the end of October". The booklet only classifies the vintage as "bon", not as "grand" or "exceptionnel". Light gold with green tinges. On the nose: pure lime! Also spicy: fresh garden herbs, cress, bitter orange, passion fruit, pink grapefruit, an astonishing freshness already in the aromas of the fragrance. Salty and full-bodied on the palate, straightforward and gripping with astonishing tension, alcohol (moderate) and acidity (fresh) are seamlessly melted into one another, the typical chalky texture of the site is very pronounced here. The finish hints at tertiary notes, but also has truffly aromas, lemon balm and excellent length. Finally, porcini mushroom, gravy, tactile mineral components and lots of umami. Lingers on the palate for a minute or more.
