The white wine Casteller Schlossberg Scheurebe, vintage 1957 from the winery Fürstlich Castell’sche Domäne has been rated in 2018 by Rainer Schäfer with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Scheurebe from the region Franconia in Germany.
Dried apricot and honey tart on the nose, also notes of ripe fruit, mushrooms, kumquats and an ethereal notion. Aromatically hardly recognisable as Scheurebe. Very dry on the palate and still with agile acidity, but not very consistent; nevertheless respectably aged.
