The red wine Sassi Grossi, vintage 2018 from the winery Gialdi Vini SA has been rated in 2021 by Benjamin Herzog, Dominik Vombach und Ursula Geiger with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Canton of Ticino in Switzerland.
Dark, deep ruby garnet. Dark fruity nose with notes of blackberry, plum and cassis, as well as roasted notes such as coffee and liquorice. Beautifully textured on the palate, but of medium weight at most. Elegant with supporting acidity and fine but noticeable tannins. Finishes long with notes of dark berries and spices. Still has room for improvement.
