The red wine Messorio Merlot IGT, vintage 2009 from the winery Le Macchiole has been rated in 2012 with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright, intense ruby purple colour. Marvellously seductive nose, aromas of raspberry, blackberry, and fine chocolate. Initially somewhat hesitant, shows lots of juicy berry fruit, then takes off and opens up in many layers with finely-meshed tannins, builds for a long time, with a firm finish and beautiful drive.
