The red wine Messorio Merlot IGT, vintage 2011 from the winery Le Macchiole has been rated in 2014 with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, deep dark ruby colour with a slight blue shimmer. Dense, exuberant nose, rich fruit, of plums, blackberries and cassis. On the palate, polished and full-bodied, unfolds with lots of fine-grained tannins, savoury, lots of rich, dark berry fruit, a beautiful interplay between tobacco and fruit in the finish.
