The white wine Würzburger Stein Gewürztraminer VDP.ERSTE LAGE trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Bürgerspital has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Gewürztraminer from the region Franconia in Germany.
A very clear, very ripe and complex aroma, rose, candied pineapple, lychee and indeed something smoky and peppery. Impressive on the palate with power and substance, very high density, a little carbonic acid gives tension, a delicate hint of sweetness lends lift to the fruit, the finish is pithy and unaffected by the powerful tactile minerality.
