The red wine »Grande Cuvée«, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Axel Bauer has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec from the region Baden in Germany.
On the nose, still closed, but indicates great ageing potential with a concentrated, weighty aroma of black fruits, cassis, blackberry and black cherry in a slightly smoky ambience with dark tobacco notes. Intense and almost fleshy on the palate with mellow, long-lasting tannins, lots of substance, power and depth, emphatically dry without being austere, hints of sour cherry and blueberry, mineral and a long finish. Youthful.
