Tasting from 01.06.2021: Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler

Rich ruby with a garnet shimmer. Ripe plums, pickled sour cherries, wild berries and a drop of blackcurrant cordial on the nose, also reminiscent of allspice and violets, with a slight aftertaste of chocolate powder. Smooth palate with polished, multi-layered tannins that comfortably embed the dark fruit, showing considerable freshness and fine juiciness at the same time, the high alcohol is not noticeable. Will benefit from some bottle ageing to round off its tannins, but is already harmonious, balanced and long.
