Keen not to sacrifice comfort just because you're flying cattle class? Now people are taking to the skies once again, Upgraded Points has looked into which airlines are offering the best perks and creature comforts in economy.

The travel website collected data on the most popular US airlines and scored them out of 100 in six categories: entertainment, amenities, comfort, Covid measures, quality of food and variety of drinks. It then averaged them to provide a total in-flight pleasure rating

Alaska Airlines inched into first place, with an overall ranking of 66.8/100, boosted by high scores for its amenities and drinks. But it was only a whisker ahead of JetBlue on 66.7. Delta came in third on 62.4, United was fourth with 50.7 and American Airlines fifth with 48.4.

Carriers Hawaiian Airlines (48.2), Sun Country (44.4), Southwest (40.6), Frontier (24.7), Spirit (24.7) and Allegiant (15.9) rounded out the rankings. The latter two ultra-low cost airlines both scored zero for entertainment and amenities – proof that perhaps you get what you pay for.
