The Most Expensive Michelin-Starred Tasting Menus in the World

Gourmets for whom price is no object should check out these Michelin-starred restaurants, ranked by Chef's Pencil.

The food magazine and chef's website researched prices for nearly 500 Michelin-starred restaurants and ranked them according to the highest priced full-tasting menus.

The most expensive tasting menu was at Sublimotion in Ibiza, Spain at a cost of US$1,740/€1,541 per head. Chef and co-founder Paco Roncero has two Michelin stars to his name although Sublimotion is not yet ranked.

Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet in Shanghai, China came in at second place at US$1,422 per head and Kitcho Arashiyama Honten in the Japanese city of Kyoto was third with a menu that costs US$910 per head, Chef's Pencil calculated.

Rounding out the top 10 were Azabu Kadowaki in Tokyo (US$825), Masa in New York City (US$800), Joël Robuchon, Tokyo, Kikunoi Honten and Gion Maruyama, both in Kyoto (all US$637 a head), Guy Savoy in Paris (US$615) and Piazza Duomo in Alba, Italy (US$580).

Chef's Pencil researched more than 450 restaurants, selecting the most expensive full-tasting course, which for some restaurants can be up to US$300 more expensive than other courses, it said.
