Good food, good music, good times: Cornwall’s Rock Oyster Festival

From 29 to 31 July, chefs and musicians are coming together to celebrate their respective arts at a festival in north Cornwall.

If you love good food, the Rock Oyster Festival might be the perfect place to spend the weekend.  And if you love good music as well, all the more reason to get yourself down to the coast. The festival takes place between 29 and 31 July 2022 at Dinham House overlooking the spectacular Camel Estuary near the town of Rock in north Cornwall.

Jack Stein invites foodie friends

This time around, the food and music festival has teamed up with Jack Stein, chef director of the Stein Restaurant Group, to curate a unique culinary line-up. He will be inviting foodie friends and enthusiasts from across the South West and beyond to his home county for three days of pop-up restaurants, open-fire cooking, and chef demos. Some big names like Rick Stein, Rosemary Shrager and Gizzi Erskine will join him over the weekend, as well as award-winning chefs Adam Handling, Neil Rankin, Richard Bertinet, Emily Scott, Romy Gill and many more.

These talented chefs will be offering masterclasses with a focus very much on local, seasonal produce.  Jack Stein said: »From preparing freshly caught fish to feasts overlooking the Camel Estuary, we want everyone to feel inspired by the food and drink we’re so passionate about.« Attendees will be able to take away practical skills they can use in everyday life. »We’re sure it will be a truly memorable weekend«, he said.

Music line-up

The equally exciting music line-up in Cornwall includes household names such as Laura Mvula, Happy Mondays, Passenger, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Grandmaster Flash, Rae Morris and a DJ Set by Huey Morgan, to name but a few. And if you needed any more reasons to travel to Cornwall: Festival-goers will have the opportunity to sample everything this famous coastline has to offer, including watersports such as paddle boarding and canoeing, wellbeing activities like yoga and mindfulness workshops, and much more.

Tickets and booking

Adult weekend camping tickets start at £139 + the booking fee. Both masterclasses and feasts are limited and must be booked in advance, with tickets ranging from £5 to £30.
