KFC Warns UK Customers of Food Shortage

KFC has warned UK customers over food shortages after weeks of disruption.

Potential food shortages
Global fast-food chain KFC is facing food shortages in its UK restaurants. Customers may find some menu items aren‘t available or experience minor changes in packaging. The fried chicken company has not mentioned what is causing the issue or what dishes will be missing, but a shortage of lorry drivers is likely part of the problem. "Just a heads up that across our country, there's been some disruption over the last few weeks - so things may be a little different when you next visit us,” KFC UK tweeted. “We know it's not ideal, but we're working hard to keep things running smoothly.”

Hit by delivery issues
A shortage of drivers is affecting brands across the UK. Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic have left the UK short of 100,000 lorry drivers, according to the Road Haulage Association. Around 2,000 army drivers with valid licences have reportedly been placed on standby to step in to help maintain deliveries next month. It is not yet known how long the disruption will last.
