Vietnam Airlines offers daily nonstop flights from London

The national carrier of Vietnam will increase flight frequencies from the end of October.

Vietnam Airlines will increase flight frequencies from London Heathrow to Vietnam to seven weekly services from the end of October. Vietnam’s national carrier is also set to resume its daily service from LHR to Vietnam, with the airline operating four flights per week to Hanoi and three per week to Ho Chi Minh City, all on Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners.

Vietnam Airlines launched the first-ever direct flights between the UK and Vietnam in December 2011. In 2015, it switched operations from London Gatwick to London Heathrow and rolled out its first new B787-9 Dreamliner on the route. After a two-year suspension due to the pandemic, the connection was re-established in June 2022, with daily services resuming for this winter schedule.

“We are proud to have carried approximately 29,000 passengers from Heathrow to Vietnam in just nine months last year, contributing significantly to the tourism recovery in Vietnam,” said Phan The Thang, General Manager UK & Ireland, Vietnam Airlines.

The airline wants to return to pre-pandemic passenger numbers, which peaked at 74,000 from London Heathrow in 2019.

Return economy fares from LHR start from £588 per person to Hanoi and £596 per person to Ho Chi Minh City, including taxes and surcharges.
