Der Whisky mit dem Mitte der 1990er Jahre unsere Erfolgsgeschichte begonnen hat strahlt goldgelb im Glas. Er wird aus einer Maische aus 60% ungemälztem Roggen und 40% Gerstenmalz hergestellt und destilliert und lagert für 15 Jahre in einem Eichenfass aus heimischer Eiche. In der Nase begrüßt er uns mit feinen Note nach Vanille, kräftigen Roggennoten, einer würzigen Süße und Aromen nach Orange und Kräuter. Im Mund umspielt er erst samtig die Zunge und sorgt für ein molliges Mundgefühl, bevor er am Gaumen seine ganze Würze entfaltet. Ein reifer, sehr ausgewogener Whisky mit enormen Charakter. Im Abgang zeigt sich dann noch eine angenehme Schärfe. Noten nach Kaffee, Karamell und Haselnuss gepaart mit eine Anflug von roten Beeren und einem wuchtigen Finale von frischen Kräutern.

Concentrated nose with savouriness, savoury cocoa and dry tobacco. A hint of bread savouriness complements the nose. Quite mild on the palate at the beginning, before the full force of the savouriness is dominant from around the middle.
